Steel siding in Amarillo, TX
Steel siding is galvanized steel with a factory finish, formed into lap or vertical panels. It doesn't rot, crack or burn, and it matches the metal shops and barns found all over the Panhandle.
Get a free estimateA good fit if you want
- A factory finish that never needs paint
- Siding that won't crack in a cold snap or rot at the base
- A clean match with a metal shop, barn or outbuilding
- Vertical or lap profiles in the same material
Trade-offs
- Large hail can dent it. A dented panel is replaced, not patched.
- Matching a replacement panel's color years later can be harder than with paint.
- Installed cost sits toward the upper end of the siding range.
What to check on a quote
- Panel gauge. A lower gauge number means thicker steel; ask for it in writing.
- Hail and fade coverage. Some steel siding warranties include hail protection (Edco's does); read what counts as hail damage and how a claim works.
- Registration and transfer. Edco, for example, requires registration within 60 days of install, and transfer to the next owner needs written notice and a fee.
Cost
About $4 to $16 per square foot installed, national 2026 range.
